Woodmancote Locals Get Out of the Mud
Working on behalf of Woodmancote Parish Council, Grimshaw Kinnear has completed a project to turn a muddy track into a 160m stone-chipping footpath. Running alongside the Gloucestershire/Warwickshire railway track, the footpath is a popular route leading into Bishops Cleeve, and links up existing paths with a safe crossing point across the line. |

Before construction of the new pathway began Grimshaw had to level the ground, removing the mud and silt that had built up. “Although not a difficult job this contract did present us with a few specific hurdles that had to be overcome,” Gordon Tolmie, site supervisor said. “To minimise any damage to existing grass areas, access was limited to one end of the path only. This meant using small, narrow dumpers that could travel along the width of the new path.” The Honeybourne Meadow footpath is one of a number of local projects that specialist construction company Grimshaw Kinnear has been involved in. Recent projects have included the cycle route at St Michaels Road and car park alterations at Gloucester Royal Hospital .
